Why are certifications important?

The Fashion and Textile sector is considered one of the most polluting in the world. Fortunately, sustainability is becoming one of the fundamental pillars for companies.

However, we still have a long way to go, from the selection of our raw materials, to the circularity of the end of life of the product, through the production processes, not to mention the consumption habits of our society.

Our obligation as an integral part of the sector’s value chain is to respond to this need.

One of the ways we can do this is with the help of certification systems. There are many certifications and initiatives related to sustainability in our sector. At Holistex, we are proud to have been the first company in Spain to obtain the BLUESIGN® certification in 2012.

BLUESIGN® is one of the most demanding certifications in terms of product health and safety, efficiency and traceability of processes and respect for safety and welfare of workers.

What is BLUESIGN®?

BLUESIGN® is a system that provides safer and more sustainable environments for people to work and everyone to live. Powered with a holistic approach, BLUESIGN® traces the path of each textile throughout the manufacturing process, making improvements at all stages of the production process. At the same time, it improves the environmental impact of fabrics, as a solution provider and knowledge agent, it acts as an independent verifier to ensure trust and transparency. Consistent with this approach, it encourages the industry to step up its efforts in sustainable processes step by step.

Definitely, BLUESIGN® represents the vision and mentality of responsible and sustainable manufacturing of consumer textile products.

In addition, we have other certificates that reinforce our vision, those are: Standard 100 de OEKO-TEX®.

OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100

Is the most widespread and recognized certification

in relation to the safety of textile products for consumers.

Global Recycled Standard, Organic 100 and Organic Blended

Are the certifications that allow us to guarantee the traceability throughout our production process, of the fabrics made up of fibers from organic cultivation and of recycled origin, and as an extension of the rest of our products.
